Be My Valentine

The New Year has started...the kids are finally back at school this past week....and my house is in order again!  :P  It took the better part of the morning yesterday but I finally cleaned up from our "long holiday" and definitely have a sense of peace now that the house is just the way I like it.  Now lets just see how long it will stay this way!  HAHAHA

Today I'm sharing a card I made using a sketch from Walzingmouse Sketch challenge.

I decided to make it a valentine themed card and to use a color combination that I have always loved....teal and red. I think it's a nice change from the typical reds and pinks and definitely would be a great card for the male gender!

I started with early espresso CS as my base. (obviously one of my fav colors seem how it's in most of my cards)   Island Indigo DSP was then sponged and matted with Island Indigo CS and added for the BG.

I then cut a strip of Island Indigo CS and matted that with early espresso. That was added to some really red CS with dimensional adhesive. I used my heart edged punch along the bottom of that. (Love this punch for Valentine cards)!

Some SU retired Very Vanilla ruffle ribbon was added ( I've soooo been hoarding this ribbon) then the strip was adhered to the card using dimensional adhesive.

Next I stamped my main image, which is from SU called Be My Valentine. I used real red craft ink and clear embossing powder. That was cut out and added to circles I crated using my nestabilities. I added that to the card using dimensional adhesive.

Lastly I stamped the heart image once more using early espresso craft ink then cut out the greeting and adhered that to the main image using dimensional adhesive.  (Third time is a charm....that's how many times I had to stamp the sentient to get it straight)!  LOL
The inside was finished off by adding CS similar to the front of the card and some very vanilla grosgrain ribbon. I stamped a sentiment from my SU set called P.S. I love You.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
