I recently had a request for a Christmas pocket card done in all pinks. I love to do non-traditional Christmas cards....I tend to tire a bit of the constant red and green theme by the time all my cards are done for the season. This card style was a welcomed change!
I started with a card base of melon mambo CS. It is cut the same size as my typical A2 card, I just score it at the 5 1/2 and 1 1/2 marks to created the pocket that will hold the insert.
Retired DSP from SU called Candy Lane was used to decorate this card...I lightly sponged it and matted it with some pretty in pink CS. A thin line of adhesive was added to edges of the front flap before folding it up to create the pocket.
Satin and taffeta pink ribbon to the scallop flap int he front then adhered that down too. Satin ribbon was also used for the insert. (The insert could later serve as a bookmark if the recipient chooses.)
Next I created by insert out of the same colors and then stamped my sentiments, which is from my set called Sparkly & Bright. Some pink snowflakes were also stamped from my set called Christmas Punch. I embossed those with iridescent ice to give them some shimmer.
The front of the pocket card was decorated my adding some ovals created by my nestabilities and a sentiment from my set called Four the Holidays.
Lastly I created some snowflakes with my nestabilities and a Martha Stewart punch. Each one was sponged and glittered up then I added a pink crystal to the center.
I hope you enjoyed all the pink and sparkles today....Thank you so much for stopping by!
