Stamping 411 sketch

This weeks sketch over at Stamping 411 looked really easy when I first saw it but as I was trying to plan out what I wanted to do it really stumped me. At first I thought I'd emboss the BG CS but when I did, I didn't like how "solid" it looked. In the end I decided to dig into my DSP and find something that would work. I really like how this turned out...although it doesn't have as much dimensional as I usually prefer. I just might go back to the drawing board and try once more.

Here is a picture of the sketch I followed....

...and here is the card I made...

I based the color scheme of this card off of the DSP which is from my Sweet Pea collection. (Isn't it cute?!)

I started with a card base of retired tangerine tango and then added my DSP which is matted with some chocolate chip CS. The bottom corners of all 3 layers are rounded with my corner rounder.

I then added two strips of brown grosgrain ribbon and added an orange corduroy button with twine to the top of that.

I then stamped my sentiment...which is from my SU set called Thankful Thinking. I used chocolate chip craft ink on sahara sand CS and clear embossed that. I then matted that onto some chocolate chip CS and cut a little "tail" at the end. I added an orange corduroy button to the opposite end and adhered that to the card with dimensional adhesive.

The inside is finished off by adding some sahara sand CS matted with some chocolate chip.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
